Will Chiefs win the ‘three-peat’ or will the Eagles disrupt history -Super Bowl LIX
The Kansas City Chiefs are on the verge of creating history, they have the chance to do what no team has done before and win three consecutive SuperBowls. The Chiefs are already the first back-to-back champions to return to the Big Game. The Eagles created history of their own while winning the NFC title,
setting a conference-title record with 55 points against the Commanders in front of a home crowd. Philadelphia Eagles are going to their second Super Bowl in three years, having narrowly lost to the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII.

The Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs are back for their fifth Super Bowl appearance in six years and have the chance to complete the first ‘three-peat’ in NFL history. After beating the Bills for the fourth time in five seasons in the Playoffs, where the two-time league MVP Mahomes got the better of Buffalo’s Josh Allen once again.
Chiefs’ seasons has been all but perfect, finishing with a record of 15-2 as they won their ninth successive AFC West division title. They started well but there was still questions if they could be Super Bowl again due to them earning many close wins throughout the season with them not playing how they have in the past. However, it took the Chiefs until week 11 to lose their first game of the season at
the hands of the Buffalo Bills. Andy Reid’s Chiefs would then go on a flawless run, showing the league why they are the reigning champions, winning all their games until week 18 where they rested their starters and lost to the Broncos.
As the Chiefs achieved the number 1 seed in the AFC they earned a bye week through the wild card round as they awaited their opponents. With the players well rested, they faced Houston Texans in the Divisional Round. C.J. Stroud and the Texans made easy work of the Chargers in the Wild Card Round and hoped they could beat Mahomes to book a place in the Conference Championships.
The game was a close affair with both sides looking as if they could win until the fourth quarter, where Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce showed up and put the game to rest. The Chiefs advanced to the AFC Championship game for the 8th time in history and 7th consecutive under Andy Reid. Patrick Mahomes once again beat Josh Allen in a hard fought battle ending 32-29 to the Chiefs and booked their tickets to Super Bowl LIX.

The Philadelphia Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles are going back to the Super Bowl for the second time in three years and have the chance at revenge after losing to the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII. The Eagles won 55-23 over Division rivals, Washington Commanders to be crowned the NFC champions and secured their place in New Orleans. Eagles’ season kicked off with a struggling start but they picked up form to finish
with the second seed in the NFC and a record of 14-3, which secured their second NFC East title in the last five years. Eagles season started off in Brazil, for the first NFL game to be hosted there in history, as they beat the Packers. Things quickly took a turn as they went on to lose two of their next three games. This was then followed by a much needed bye week, which seemingly gave the team a renewed motivation as they went on a 10 week winning streak. This ended in the hand of the Commanders with starting QB Jalen Hurts out to a concussion but resumed their red hot form in weeks 17 and 18 to secure the NFC East title. As Nick Sirianni’s Eagles took the second seed in the NFC, they would be playing 7th seed Green Bay in the Wild Card Round. The Eagles eased past the Packers, not allowing them to score in the first half and the number 1 defence in the league getting 3 interceptions as they won 22-10. They would come up against the LA Rams in the Divisional Round who were much more of a challenge. But
thanks to another insane performance from MVP candidate Saquon Barkley, they ensured that they were going to the Conference Championships. Eagles were set to face division rivals Commanders in the NFC championship although most people thought it would be the Detroit Lions that they would face. Another comfortable result for the Eagles as Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley starred, scoring 3 rushing TDs each. The Eagles set the record for the most points scored in a Championship Game and with their 55 – 23 win over the Commanders they are going to the Super Bowl.
